The classes are conducted by Grzegorz Sagat Greczuk, who has been practicing the art of capoeira for over 25 years and has been a trainer for over 20 years. His adventure with martial art was preceded by a two-year search and began in Grupa Magia. The group then became part of the Associacao de Capoeira Mestre Vermelho 27 – Aguia Branca, to transform in 2003 into the UNICAR group that exists today.
The movie “Only the strong” for Grzegorz Sagat Greczuk was the inspiration to start his adventure with capoeira art. It is largely thanks to the inspiration from the film and over 23 years of training that he was awarded the Corda Professor title in 2018. A year later, for the first time in his life, Sagat traveled to Brazil, where he practiced the art of capoeira under the tutelage of the most eminent Mestres, such as Mestre Bamba, to which he joined the group.
Also in 2019, Grzegorz opened a branch of the ACMB group in London, which is successfully operating today. An important event in his life was the award of the Corda Professor title during the international Siribinha 2020 event, which was attended by about 200 people from around the world and from many capoeira groups.
As Sagat says, “Capoeira has become a way of life for me. It allowed me to find my own weaknesses that I can overcome by working hard on myself. I am glad that I can pass my knowledge on to adepts of this art and help them to go through not only the effort during training, but also the hardships of life and the struggle with everyday life. Capoeira has become an opportunity to establish close contacts with students, also making it possible to meet many new friends who, after many years of cordial relations, I treat as family”.
